Recycling is everyone's responsibility! If the community comes together to recycle we can have a better environment! If you are interested in recycling you may call 270-864-3444 or 270-406-2707. It is a free program with pickup, services can be provided to schools, factories, stores, and government officials. Equipment is new along with the newly built collection center. This program was made possible by Grant Funds from the Kentucky Division of Waste Management. ​​​​​

​​Things to do before dropping off your recyclables:

  • Remove tops​/ Lids from all plastic bottles
  • Rinse out all cans and plastic bottles
  • Put shredded paper in separate bag
  • Paper, Plastics, Cans, Newspapers​, Magazines, and cardboard may be placed in the same bag

​​Reasons to recycle:

  • Recycling a stack of newspaper just three feet high can save one tree.
  • Recycling one ton of aluminum cans saves 37 barrels of oil.
  • Enough energy is saved by recycling one aluminum can to run TV set for three hours or to light ​one 100 watt bulb for 20 hours.
  • Every year we make enough plastic film to shrink-wrap Texas.
  • Americans go through 25 billion plastic bottles every year. 
  • Everyday Americans use enough steel and tin cans to make a steel pipe from Los Angeles to New York and back.
  • Making cans from recycled aluminum saves 95% of the energy required to produce cans from virgin materials.
  • The amount of wood and paper we throw away each year is enough to heat 50,000,000 homes for 20 years.
